I’m currently an Immigration Paralegal and want to explore Corporate law to broaden my skills. I hold an LL.B. and an LL.M. completed in the U.S., and I’m awaiting results from the California Bar Exam. Given my background, would pursuing paralegal roles in new areas be a good way to gain practical experience? I’d appreciate any advice or insights you can share.

Has anyone built an emergent learning group in your consultancy or company that focuses on reflection, feedback, problems of practice... But amongst designers staffed on different projects/clients? How did you structure it? How did you maintain it?

Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. What are my chances of finding a role with another company that'll let me work in BI/data analytics and build up my skill at the same time? Been thinking of leaving ACN.

Masters only patent agent in life sciences, worked in house for 2 years as a paralegal, patent agent for one year now. What should I expect for salary in NYC boutique/big law ?

How feasible is it transition out of litigation / insurance coverage to more of an in house generalist role?I have some recent transactional experience and used to be a judicial clerk.

Is it worth applying for a position with a firm you are directly adverse to on a matter or will conflicts definitely keep you from joining?

Can an ADA make the jump to big law or a boutique litigation firm? I’m a NYC ADA (DANY/KCDA) from a Tier 2 law school (top 45% only) and top 10 undergrad. Can experience make up for mediocre grades?

Recruiters, my position as senior in-house counsel at a privately held electronics manufacturing company was eliminated recently due to COVID. Looking for opportunities in the Mpls/Chicago areas. Open to networking or discussing any open opportunities. Experience includes development and purchasing contracts, distribution agreements, patents, trademarks, licensing, data privacy for an international organization with a legal department of one.

Is it possible to go from Finance Compliance to Biglaw? I have 5y Biglaw experience abroad and NY license. Moved to NY for inhouse job in finance but considering moving back after 4y.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. What are salaries like for class of 2019 in am law 50-100. I have average working attorney collections as high as our senior associates but I’m only making 215k. Trying to see what salary I should ask for.

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I am also looking to relocate to a different state. How do I go about properly marketing myself to companies that might not take my relocation and minimal experience seriously?
