I definitely think that could be a good way to gain experience. They may consider you to be over qualified though so that may be hard to overcome.
No, I am a senior corporate paralegal; I don't recommend transitioning into a paralegal role. Firms do not move people up the ladder. Instead, aim for an attorney position in the most prestigious law firm you can. You will get limited practical experience. Firms are rather siloed now; it is not like it used to be. You will not get legal analysis experience in corporate law at all. Only the mechanics which a paralegal will guide you on once you are a corporate attorney.
