I am interviewing for a manger position at Strategy& & can use some tips on how to crack the interview. I’ve been told that each interview will be a 45 min conversation with a director/partner & will cover 15 min overview of my experience & last 30 will be left for a case study. When asked about the specifics, the recruiter told me that it is nothing that I have to prep for.
Any tips will be highly appreciated! Also, what should be an ideal compensation for the manager position?
Our comp is standard by level. Meaning the M1 base salary is the M1 base salary for all with no negotiation or variation by location. Bonus is done across the full manager population and is based on impact. If you want to push for M2 you can try but you’d need to show significant time at that level elsewhere for that to be considered.
For the case be structured in how you approach the problem. Take your time where you need to. Be clean on your math and don’t forget to synthesize at the end.
I’d also say don’t forget we want you to crush the interview. No one is out to trick you. Be yourself and it’ll go great.

General case prep, a lot of senior team is either original booze ppl or ex MBB so same type of strategy case you'd expect there.
Don't expect all three to be only the industry you are applying for. .I got elevators to a financial services team....
Show how you think, communicate, and build a relationship style conversation.
Connect ur previous experience to the case analysis.
Do the math but explain your approach.
Have fun with it.
SC, I wouldn’t lean into connections to prior work too hard.
The case is about how you think. Can you take a first principles approach to problem solving?
If you there’s a clean relationship to your prior work that helps you get to a deeper level of insight then great but it’s not necessary and there may be something lost by explaining the magic trick.
