What firm benefits do you most appreciate?
What is your opinion on GARP financial Risk Manager (FRM) certificate? I am considering taking it (as I am FS Risk Consulting), but I am not sure if it really carries benefits. Apparently it is quite a tough study. Is it worth the time or should I invest my time elsewhere? Also do you have learning material you are willing to share :D?
I'm returning to work from maternity leave tmrw. Kids' bags are packed. My lunch, work bag & pump bag is packed. Coffee pot is programmed. Alarm is set. I still can't sleep! What's your AM/PM routine?
Are manager health, dental, etc benefits firm paid usually? Ive always thought this to be the case, but ive never heard for sure. I know parking and cell phone is usually covered a lot of places.
Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
Having a NW of ~700K at 31 with a combined HHI of ~250K. . 1M is estimated value of home we live in , ~650K is mortgage on it. Have ~100K in the market, ~25K in cash and HYSA, 275K in 401K and roll overs. What are we doing wrong? We live in the bay area and this does not seem to be enough. Always have a feeling that we are not making enough and are poor.
I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
Does Healthcare companies like Anthem, Humana or United Health pay more than 160+ in their Technology group? Experienced on Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud Native world and Google Cloud certified..
I’m making about $100k a year currently in a MCOL city. I’m single with no kids, no debt, rent is $1k/mo and I’m maxing my 401k and IRA. Would I be a fool buying a $65-70k car? I’m a car guy so I already have a pretty cool car with only 40k on the clock, but have been considering upgrading. Thoughts?
How long is maternity leave at your current gig? I was just informed I can only get 8 weeks...
Hows d phone reimbursement work? Do I sign up for a plan with Deloitte discount? Or its purely reimbursement? How much is the monthly plan and how much for the phone unit allowed per month as well? Thanks
So.. EY’s health insurance through BCBS only covers Pap smears every 3 years now… HOW is this okay. I just paid $990 out of pocket because the rules changed this year. I’m pissed
Accepted an offer for a MM in FDD, but my current employer is offering 15k to stay, and will transfer me to the service line I desire (I have it in writing). Base is 10k more, and benefits and exits better at B4. Any reason not to stay? Not looking forward to reneging but seems like an easy decision
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Does anyone here work at Crowe? What is the salary range for a healthcare senior consultant? YOE - 3 + MBA. Location: remote. Travel: 25- 40%. Also interested in other opinions of Senior consultant salaries at other firms. TY!
I recently switched employers. I used to have Kaiser Permanente health insurance & loved my doctors. Have been with them for almost 3 years. My new insurance isn’t so great, but because of employer contribution, it’s affordable to go that route. Has anyone paid for health insurance out of pocket? Thinking of just paying for it to keep KP, but it’s a difference of ~$200. Or just find new doctors?
Need help with a very entry-level career decision… Long-term goal: Product Management/Product Marketing for tech company. 0-1 YOE. 1: CDP Analyst at Accenture, TC ~93 with sign on bonus. No 401k matching first year, 6% after. 2: Sales for CPG (PepsiCo/Unilever/P&G), basically partnering with e-commerce platforms to manage sales and product. Easy job and we get a car on top of TC of $81K (although only 71 of that is base). I know the numbers are both rookie, but I’m fresh outta college.
Fuck Deloitte. Not only is our employer 401k match 1.5% but it takes 4years to vest. I'm so done with the nickel and dime-ing. Getting promoted and running.
I’m looking at an opportunity at Crowe. What is the environment, culture, people and work life balance like at Crowe in Bay Area location? How is the firm Perk and Benefits?
Any agencies giving raises right now? We keep hearing the same pandemic-related excuse every week for the raise freeze. I was due for a raise when everything shut down last year, took a pay cut for half the year, and don’t know how much longer I can hold out.
Does anyone know if you can get your h1b stamped somewhere else? I just scheduled an appointment in my country but they won’t see me until June 2023 😢
After how many days Deloitte 1st round result technical interview will come?... Did anyone applied and get the response...
If you accidentally give a recruiter your comp on a phone screen (was taken by surprise), do you address the comp you want in the next conversation or wait until you pass the final interview?
Graduate job programs??I'm currently over a year at a tech startup whilst studying 1-2 days a week, essentially working full time. Considering moving to corporate to gain access to a professional career development program and due to unprofessional behavior and lack of training at my startup Can anyone recommend any graduate job programs for 2022 ? I'm looking into mostly business development or project manager programs but I'm open to other options Thanks !
TFW you pack your bag for fly day and check out of hotel but there is 50% chance client needs you to stay through tomorrow. 🤔
Any big companies offer same pto time as big four? I find myself at a smaller company struggling to get to even enjoy my pto as I’m always on
At a lot of biglaw firms, associate raises and special bonuses caused an inversion of comp with counsel and even NEPs. Anyone at a firm that is adjusting counsel salaries to keep pace?
Can someone tell their Accenture interview experience and process? Skill set - Java, spring boot, microservices.
Is WLB better at S& than MBB/Tier2 or worse? I feel like it’s probably the latter because of Utilization/PwC culture, but want to validate.
Hi anyone in PwC up for referral and making new connection ? I am looking for internship.
Hi there! I attended a virtual robotics workshop last week. I learned a lot and especially enjoyed connecting with others who were using robots in their classroom. I hope you join the discussion and we can find a way to support each other.
I've been with my current company for 2 years now(total around 4 yoe in 2 companies). My manager told me that he sent my name up for promotion(level 1 to level 2), but the board only selected 1 of the 4 names he sent. He says he really likes my work, and that he will be sending my name again next year. What should I do next? Stick around or switch teams/jobs? Any advice would be appreciated.
Long run what pays more MBB or FAANG ?
Coming off of my first real, full week of PTO in my 10+ year career (my fault... that was self- imposed) and WOW. I actually feel refreshed, comfortable with returning tomorrow and grateful that my firm and team did not once try to grab my attention for literally anything. Take your PTO, folks. I'm serious. It helps.
