Am currently serving my notice period. Lwd is in Jan. i have asked for 1 week continuous leave for my marriage in November. My manager told they wont approve long leaves during notice period and might extend my lwd. I told am fine with it. Now she says she wont approve it. Its my marriage and these people are expecting me to work. What will happen if i still drop leaves? Can i ask early release from project and go to bench? Please give me suggestions. Cognizant

Just accepted an offer with a psych startup. Not exactly the offer I was hoping for as I’m taking a slight pay cut ($73/hr) and it’s a 1099 position. I keep getting stuck on the 1099 piece because I’ll be working 40 hrs/wk, but have been told I’m not eligible to be a W2 employee. Needless to say, no benefits whatsoever. They don’t even provide a computer or any other remote equipment for the completely remote position. Am I making a mistake? Also, can anyone chime in about being a 1099 employee?
