Hi folks, I have given interview at HCL a week before and waited for till today morning. HR contacted me and told me like business will only give 8LPA. Where my current CTC is already 7.3LPA also HR said location is Srilanka.. its kind of making me angry and laugh.. I am having 4 years of experience in ETL development.. I don't know what makes them think I will agree to their offer.. I am just venting out my frustration.. I also want to hear your point of view here

I had final round interviews last week for the company I really want to work for. I have an offer from another company, which I communicated to the recruiter which expedited the interview to final rounds. I need to respond to the other company's offer letter soon. Should I follow up with the hiring recruiter for the company I want an offer from? Or just move on if I haven't heard back by end of this week?

My partner got a City of Toronto offer. Salary band is 104-121k. HR asked for his expectations and he said 115k. HR came back with a 106k offer stating nobody on the team makes that much so they cant offer it. Also said she is unsure if there is any wiggle room if any at all. I’ve looked at everyone on the team with the same titles salary on the sunshine list and the lowest I see is 121k. I assume there is an OT component of some sort but also can’t confirm. Thoughts? /negotiating advice?
