My manager thinks the best next step for me is to move into management and leadership and has started pushing me to apply for an engineering manager role. They say that I will be a good fit because of my strong technical background paired with the leadership and people skills I display currently.

I’m torn because I do love being an IC but I’m interested in leadership also. What do I do?

I have attended l2 meeting 2 weeks ago. Waiting for results. Now another job vacancy posted, if I'm able to get reference and apply for the posting. Will I be called again even if I apply with same mail account. Because still I didn't get rejection mail for 1st interview.

I am starting a new role with a new company and will have 6 direct reports. Although I have managed teams before in a consulting project setting, this will be the first time in industry. Any recommendations on how to sharpen my management skills (books, blogs, etc). Particularly looking at how to delegate effectively and practical examples on how to run day to day.

I got offer from NatWest Chennai location . My skills set is project management 13 years experience. They have mentioned in my offer letter B7 corporate title is associate. When I ask to hr guy he said it is equal to Manager level. But title will change department department. Is it true? B7 is manager role ? What is CDIO department in Natwest. Please clear my doubts

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
