McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Are you at a holding company? It seems like it, bc only holding companies or very large agencies have ad ops.
I understand your concerns but be aware that ad ops is mainly overhead and not revenue generating, so there is real danger of losing your role if there is business lost or cost cutting.
Also tons of ad ops roles are being moved to offshore/overseas and hold cos are looking to use AI especially for ad ops roles.
If you do move, your ad ops role will be lower level and those are the most riskiest to be offshored or eliminated with AI, which means there is not a lot of opportunities aka open roles anyways.
You have to take a step back and think about your career bc analytics at agencies will always have an element of client speaking.
Maybe you can go client side, platform side or in a totally different industry that just involves you pulling data and crunching numbers.
But I would also think about overcoming your concerns if you want to stay in analytics at an agency.
What is the burnout? Are you not comfortable with speaking and presenting in general? Are you not confident in your speaking and presenting skills? Bc you can work on it and practice it but you have to grind through it.
Lots of people went through what you are going through now, some put their head down and really overcame their lack of confidence (which was the main reason of their burnout) with lots of practice and hard work but also just keep learning an gaining experience
I did the opposite, I moved from ad ops to analytics cause I saw the roles kept moving off shore or they were trying to figure out how to automate it. I think the next step would be to think about why did ad ops interest you and take a look at where roles might still have those elements. You might be better off in a project management like role?
