Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Still I didn't receive my offer ...HR told it's pending with compensation team and now he told it's pending with BU head .. it's worth waiting ... Is they consider counter offers for CTC?? Both. You are overthinking this. My sense is that this opportunity has passed you by. You have nothing left to lose.

I’ve interviewed (with no intention of taking the job) and received 7offers in the last 15 months and no one has ever asked salary.
What I’m currently being paid does not dictate the value I bring to your organization. Don’t give them that number.
I'd just give it anyway and not accept the role if they are unwilling to give you your minimum compensation. Ultimately if they need you and recognise your worth they should be willing to pay you.
