I am in the Same exact boat!! Makes me think we came from the same place !! Haah
But I hope you the best in your search and hope that you don’t lose any hope! And that there are friends all over in the same boat as you.
If you need any referrals in my old company and you live close to Edison NJ or McAllen TX I can refer you to my old job which has favorable requirements in these places.
If you clink my name, you should be able to message
As someone who is an aspiring supply chain professional as well, I'd say be persistent, do as many things to get yourself ready to get into those fields - APICS testing, certifications, any classes to learn Tableaun, etc. Best of luck.
But I do tailored my resume but still is not enough! I have great recommendations and former coworkers have introduced me to some recruiters but still no luck. I want to get APICS certified but I cant afford it now since Im not working. Im taking a couple of certificates from Coursera.
You’ll get it! Be persistent! Focus on the WIN not WHEN!
Thank you!!!!
Honestly, try and find an area you want to focus in and go for it. Logistics is always hiring (from what I see in job boards). With transportation, sourcing, freight forwarding and warehousing experience; focusing on logistics might be your best bet. Hope you find something soon!
I hoped that all my experience would get me a supply chain manager role but most companies asked for at least 5 years of experience on managerial roles. I know that I will find something eventually but at this point I’m even doubting my abilities.
Try looking at startups/smaller companies. They’ll most likely want you to wear many hats, so that experience will come in handy.
Maybe not helpful but I feel you. .
Absolutely brutal market out there! I'm in a toxic job now. Wearing so many hats and working 10-12 hours a day and some weekends and holidays.
Chin up and enter the job interview with confidence (at least for me it is becoming difficult with so many rejections - not even getting to interviews that's a hard part for me, I usually nail interviews lol). But still being hopeful that something better is out there for me.
Be ready to take a step back in roles or take a minor pay cut - if you are truly taking a step back and are skilled enough to perform at a higher level, a good management would recognize this with time and you'll move forward in time. . Or you'll end up learning. . That's the attitude I'm approaching this problem with
Good luck!
Pick the topic and software you like the most and go work for the vendor for a few years. You’ll get the depth you’re looking for.
