Hi guys. I was part of a reduction in force last month. I worked at a top fund and was performing well. Just an HR decision to cut people after a year due to lack of funding. My team all gave me great references since they didn’t even know this was happening and I got a new job at another fund in five days. Still just disappointed though. It’s like I worked so hard for my job to be taken away. Any advice to get over layoff blues? I realize I rebounded very quickly and am very grateful for it.

I started my career at PWC audit in 2019 and got laid off last year due to covid. I got an offer and started working at a 2 tier (BDO, RSM, GT... level) accounting firm for 1 month. Now PWC partner extended me an offer to go back. Any thoughts?

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.
