I guess my question to you is: are you getting all of your work done? You're working 10 hours, but are you doing the work of 40 hours? I know that my output is directly related to my energy. Some days I get hyper-focused and I can get two or three days' worth of work done in a single day. That helps on those days when I can't seem to stop being so antsy. If you're getting all your work done and nobody is complaining, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Heya. Have you talked to your doc? You might need a medication change if it hasn't been helping you after 3 weeks.
I haven’t yet because I only recently started taking it consistently due to backlogs in med availability. I just can’t get any work done, and I feel awful. I’m high achieving and get praised often somehow, but I hate knowing and feeling like I’m a lazy bum.
Medication change might be in order. Or a dosage change. I felt a lot like this when I was on 10 mg Adderall once a day. Initial burst of energy and inspiration in the morning, big drop-off by like 11 AM. Talked to my doc and got it bumped to 15 mg 2x daily and am now able to lock in from 9 until at least 3.
I'm nursing and had to go off my meds and my goodness it's been a struggle. I got an accommodation at work to use an AI note taker during meetings, throw the transcript in another AI tool for a summary and action items, then put the action items in my task taker where a third AI tool prioritizes them for me 😅 the work gets done but I'll be honest I'm not doing much thinking
Definitely consider any other contributing factors. Do you have a personal office space, are you being interrupted frequently throughout the day by simple things like the phone, coworkers, clients etc. All of those, and then some, will cause continuous distraction and sensory overload which of course will cause cramps in your working style. You may just need a few hacks to help get you through the day. Maybe start by breaking your tasks down into smaller pieces. The day won't seem so overwhelming. 🤞🏻
I have the same issue and it’s been very hard to stay productive. Trying straterra hoping it helps. Afraid to try another role although my current role is starting to feel like I’ve outgrown it. Worried that changing jobs will expose my struggles. You’re not alone! Hope it gets better💙.
Three things help me with this: medication, working in the office (not at home) and good music.
