My temp contract has been extended. I’m relieved to be able to pay the bills, but after giving 70-80 shots a day, I literally dream about giving vaccines almost every night! Struggling to keep positive about finding a new permanent job - I was laid off at the end of April, have applied to over 60 jobs, had 6 interviews, and no offers. I can’t go back to chain retail - it damn near broke me in my 20’s, and it’s much worse now.

How far in advance do you advise your assistant that you will need them to efile something? I get pushback from my assistant about not giving adequate notice when I tell her in the AM that I will need her to file something in the PM. For context, this is just a regular motion (not for SJ or anything complicated). Also, I always prepare my own exhibits and supporting documents, so I just need her to file the final PDFs. Does anyone else experience this? Are my expectations unreasonable?

If a firm has multiple openings that you’re interested in, is it a good or bad idea to apply to more than one position? I’m a third year interested in retooling from lit to general corp, but they prefer someone with 3+ years of corporate experience. They’re also looking for an M&A with 1+ years, so it may be easier to aim for that, but I’ve heard horror stories re WLB for M&A. Would still try it out tho bc I’m desperate to leave lit, but don’t want to make a faux pas. Any insights appreciated!

What is average wage of Chef ,

In my restaurant, servers make twice the amount that chefs are making and working less than half the hours. Is this similar in other restaurants? I understand tipping makes a huge different but I would argue chefs are a little more valuable…

My husband is the executive chef at a local brewery. I feel like they really lowballed him on salary but not sure if it’s average or if they are taken advantage of him?

Does any other Chef feel burnt out with this industry? I have been cooking for 18 years and have been a Chef for the last 6. I have reached a point where the job doesn't give me the joy it once did. What do you do to make it fun again?
