Prior O-3’s: what was your starting salary for your first job out and what was the role? I’m entering salary negotiations soon and want to make sure I’m not cutting myself short.

When people ask you for YOE, do you include your time in grad school at all? I feel like writing that you have 2 YOE when you’re 30 years old gives a warped sense of level and compensation.

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

The industry has slowed where I live. Our bonus structure was cut in half at the start of the year. Needless to say the mortgage department floating the bank’s profit margin during the pandemic, and now after 2 years of working our butts off we are receiving a pay cut. Hi all, I have a slightly different ask. I have 5 YOE as IT BA. Does shifting from IT BA/Product to Management Consulting common? I have ONLY heard the other way round😂
The problem is I'm heading towards Lead BA or Product Mgmt roles which are more on management side and I want to continue being an IC for a couple more years. There's obv an intersection of skill sets across the 2 worksteams. Can any shifters or mgmt consultants suggest if that is a good switch now?
