Hi, I studied architecture but now I'm trying to switch to UX design. I took a course on Coursera about Google UX Design. I've been applying for jobs everywhere for two months now. They ask me to design something for a few days, but then they stop talking to me. It's making me feel really down and unsure if I made the right choice. Can anyone help me understand what's going on? Got two offers: one from a V100 firm that is essentially the best in the practice area that I’m in. The other is a mid-sized that is offering approximately 33% more in base comp, but don’t have much of a rep in my practice area. Which should I take? What else should I consider?

The last two years have significantly changed my local market and the less-than-inflation federal pay raises are not cutting it.
