Hi! I was laid off recently from Amazon. I’ve been lucky to get interviews at some of the big tech companies, but I know it’s competitive and there is a chance they may not work out. I did receive an offer from a client side role at a company that would be exciting to work at, but the pay, title are not appealing and the role is not as autonomous as I’d like it to be. They’re pushing to make a decision, I don’t want to take it but with the way the job market is going, should I just take it?

Take the job with the full understanding that you are worth more, and will continue to seek a better fit for the long-term (don'ttell them that of course). It's gotta pay better then unemployment insurance.

With this job market, take the offers you have and hope for a better one to come. I’d rather be turning in an early resignation than passing by a job.

It depends on how far along you are with the other processes. In this economy, I’d probably take it if it is reasonably close to where you want to be for salary. How far off your target is it?

Got it. Yeah that’s super tough. In this market, and if you don’t think the others would give you a decision in ~2 weeks, I would strongly consider taking it

Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?

How many married professionals with young families are just sticking it out “for the kids”? Marriage is very dead and has been for a while. Young kids 4 and 1. My wife and I don’t fight, but share 0 interests outside of the kids and can’t stand to be around each other. I’m so ready to leave… I just can’t bear the thought of doing it to my children even though another part of me feels like wife and I would both be better parents if our lives were separate. Anyone else done a similar analysis?

Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

Trying to figure out if I should start as an inbound SDR, or try jumping straight into an AE role in SaaS.

I left mortgages at the beginning of the year to start a franchise business, it's now semi-self-sufficient so wanted to start a career again and I live in the Silicon Slopes area. Everyone I know is in SaaS or software engineering.

Just wondering if I should push my resume as far as possible and try to snag an AE role or take my time in a new industry and start from the bottom.

I’ve been a club performing rep for years at a SaaS company…but as an enterprise account exec… my average deal size is around $75k in annual recurring, quota of $1M. This is inline for my company but low when I speak with others for Enterprise rep openings. Any thoughts on recommendations for steps to bridge that gap?

Hey y’all, wanted to get some insight into an offer.

Director level sales role
250k OTE 60/40 split uncapped
325k stock 4 year vest (options) - pre IPO unicorn
10k sign on bonus

I’ve got about 8-9 years in enterprise sales /mgt

Just received my first offer today for an SDR role and I’m trying to grind to the top of these tech sales positions. I’m in Atlanta and my OTE is 60,000. Where should I be looking to get near the 6 figure range starting out? I graduated from the University of Michigan Business school and I have two years 2 tech experience, if that helps. Thank you!
