They are pretty important from a consulting perspective. Clients like to see it, it makes it easier to staff you, and you’re more marketable.
That being said some of the best Salesforce professionals I’ve worked with in the past didn’t have a single cert and some of the worst had 10+

Figure out who your alliances lead for Salesforce is and ask for a virtual coffee to intro yourself/talk about your progress; I assure you they care, because # of certs is one metric that impacts what level your company is as a partner.
Definitely important if u want to grow your career on Saleaforce. Would suggest u get familiar with data cloud and the AI offerings. Will both be big growth areas. Other good niche area would be Field Service.
They’ll help you as you grow in level.
That’s surprising. When I was at D they started instituting some minimum very requirements at C/SC/M levels.
Just got Admin. I was wondering the same as OP.
At least my company pays for some certs, but not sure if the rest of the consulting firms value the certs as much.
Certs are important in a sense they can be shown as a proof of how much your firm is knowledgeable of Salesforce, e.g, in proposals they mention we have x number of X-cloud certs. And like others mentioned they come in handy for staffing. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re better than someone without certs as real life experience is much more valuable than studying and passing an exam.
I studied really hard for my admin cert before being hired, basically had zero experience of SF in real life so took me a while to get a hang of stuff on my project… fast forward to a month ago, wrote the platform app builder exam after studying half a day and passed it
They're important in consulting because they are part of determining the companies partner level, so they do make you more marketable, and will help you land the interview. That being said provable skills, personality, cultural fit, and financials will be the final decision maker.
