I am more productive from home (even pre pandemic) and I absolutely love the ability to be with my daughter as much as possible at this age. Has anyone had any success with this? I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

Has anyone found roles in Big 4 or industry that allowed more work life balance when their kids were young without damaging future career trajectory? I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives. Wishful, but my dream job would have a lighter workload in terms of time and pressure for the next ~5 years, but not set me back too much (or at all) when the kids are older and tired of me in a few years and I'm ready to be back at work full force.

I’ve worked at places that all have different holiday policies. EA has at minimum a nice 10 day shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Years. It’s great to know that there will be no slack messages or an exploded inbox to come back to while away. I’ve been at other studios that only give you Christmas Eve & Day and New Years Eve & Day and then the rest is up to you to request for PTO and this is obviously the suck.
