Hi, we're searching for a job in HR for my wife. She's an MBA from India and has 10 years of work experiences across various HR roles in FMCG and Tech. Her last role was a HR BP and India site lead for a US based semiconductor major.
Is CIPD necessary to get a comparable role in the UK? While we undersrand it's a new market, would she necessarily need to start from a basic role again? It's difficult to balance studies, work and manage a 2 y.o. Any pointers or job openings would be appreciated.

I have a friend who moved from Australia with 8 years of HR experience. She had to take a role at a lower level to get UK work experience on her CV. Would suggest your wife will have to undergo a similar process unless she is able to get someone to vouch for her

Also. Think about a company called Illumina. One of my clients and they are recruiting in HR. Medtech company. One of the hottest out there and at the absolute bleeding edge. They are in Cambridge but given their hybrid working approach they won’t mind where you are.

Sorry to be blunt but it's going to be impossible to land an HR job with only India experience. Entry level job is the best that can happen. She'd be better off pivoting to a different field as there aren't many HR jobs out there in the UK.

Thanks for your candid feedback. I hear you.
So as an HR BP she would be directly working back with US based stakeholders. Employees under her HR span comprised of both India and US engineers. Her dotted line reporting was to business leads sitting in the US. In her previous company also, she's been working with only US stakeholders for a US based FS company.
It'd be unfair to classify her exp as India only IMO.
