Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient
Larsen & Toubro Infotech Hi folks, Please help me which organisation should I go with Citius tech or LTimindtree? As recession is approaching and due to which layoffs are going on as we all know so which one is more safe to join. Please share your thoughts, which will help me to take the decision.

So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

No overtime but you're still working? Sounds like wage theft, talk to a lawyer not a forum.
You need to respect yourself and others will respect you. That needs to start from day one on the job. You set strict boundaries and walk out the door promptly at 5 PM.
Unless you make a LOT of money. That’s a toxic culture that everyone participates in to not be left behind. I’d leave for sure.

I think a labor lawyer could get you a very nice settlement, but most likely the bans attorneysk will ask you to sign a non disclosure agreement. How long has the bank been pulling this Jazz ?
I dont know Canadian labor law. But is your role an overtime-eligible position? Research overtime rules in your province on state government websites.
Do you want to clock in and clock out? That may be the end result.
Keep a personal record of your time worked, exactly, off firm systems. You may need it for back overtime claims, if you raise them.
Author, if you live in Canada, have documentation that says what you agreed to work, and are being told to work overtime, the company is LEGALLY required to pay you for that time. PERIOD.
Document all evidence of being directly or indirectly told to work overtime, including your clock-in / clock-out hours, and consult Samfiru Tumarkin or another trusted legal representative.
Who told you to work till 1am?
You stayed in the office till 1am?
37.5 is not the max you are allowed to work.
I think it would be helpful to get something in writing where your manager has somehow asked you to stay past your normal working hours. Without that, you don't have any proof.
When I worked at another Canadian bank I would just leave at the end of my shift. If my manager required me to stay longer they would send me an email at least an hour or two in advance asking me to stay back. In that case I would email them back to ensure overtime was being offered before agreeing to stay back. Additionally, I was also able to connect with hr about deeming anything over 37.5 being considered overtime as that was the normal hours per week. My manager had told me that anything over 44 hours would be overtime and that is accurate per esa (employment standards act), however I was thankful HR was more reasonable.
You should be getting paid overtime for every minute you stay behind so please try to get something in writing regarding this.
