My package is 6.36 lpa which is quite high for mechanical engineer in 2 yrs.l am planning to switch for good package to meet my financial commitments, do mech design engg can get paid above my package for 2 yrs or do I need to switch to IT has advantage since my role is senior software Engineer).Kindly share your feedback.

I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money.
