Hot take: the reason fewer students are sitting for the exams is because the exam tackles too wide a scope, consequently takes too long to study for, and alternatives now offer greater return for the time spent studying. This is the root problem.

interesting take, but shouldn’t you be studying

likefunny

I know studying is hard, but it's really not that bad in the grand scheme of things. It's one year of studying when you've already spent at least 3 years in college...

you need to think more positively or you will not enjoy this year of your life. Good luck ✨️

Jobs don’t pay you proportionally to having it. Why would I care about getting a CPA which maybe increases my salary by 20-30% over my career when I can invest in stocks or trade options and get much larger returns on my money instead of wasting time and energy studying

like

I think you need to understand that the CPA isn't really for people who want to make lots of money. It's for people who want to work in public accounting, and they want to have the prestige of CPA.

Everybody doesn't need to work in public accounting, and money wasn't really the appeal for students before.

What do you mean by alternatives? Is there a different certification I can get? Or are you saying jobs don’t care as much if you have it?
