Just say no. And then if you decide you want more then woohoo what a happy surprise for her lol
Yeah I agree with this. I think just coming outright and saying "we're done having kids" would be the best way to get her off your back. Better than saying "none of your business" in terms of keeping the family peace too haha
Tell her it’s none of her business. Flat out.
F her feelings. It’s none of her business.
The best answer depends on a few status issues: how old are you, how long have you been married, how many kids do you have. Then, of course, there's the relationship issue: are you and your significant other committed for the long haul, or ready to skip out at the first offer of something new, different, and possibly better? Let's assume you have two children, married happily and forever for 10 years, around 30 years old. Answer: "We've discussed going for No. 3, but the time isn't right at this time. Of course, if we do want someone around the house to delay the old empty nest, I guess we'll have to bite the bullet within the next fe years. Another thing is that when you've had the two most perfect children possible, what else do you have to prove? Why push you're luck. The next one could end up on America's Most Wanted -- when he's in kindergarten." In short, recognize and accept your mother-in-law's desire for another grandchild by indicating you also have a desire for another child. Sprinkle some commonsense reasons for delaying that decision and possibly coming to a different conclusion. Humor always take the edge off of unpleasant and unwelcome news.
I would be honest in a soft way. I’d just say you haven’t decided but we will let you know if and when the time is right.
