How common is being hired as a "second choice"? Meaning, the initial person they wanted and offered the job to declined and then it went to the "second best" choice. And if you found out you weren't the top choice, would that sway you in any way from taking the role?

What are some credit cards like the Apple Card that don’t have any physical numbers on them?

I like the Apple Card and considering opening one but want to see if there are better alternatives. It’s enticing that if I lose my card, I can instantly change the number so someone can’t use it. Plus no numbers means someone can’t randomly make a large fraudulent purchase.

I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here. Hi there, can anyone give me the salary range for SM / Director at EY Canada? And if there a director role available at the firm?

I just offered an intern a full time position as an account coordinator with a starting salary of $50k. They have only been an intern for 2 months and have no prior experience. They acted like $50k was a huge slap in the face. Am I crazy for thinking $50k is reasonable for entry level in Toronto? I am not authorized to negotiate so they will have to take it up with HR, but I am still just shocked at the reaction. Please tell me if I’m totally out of touch!
