Junior associates, do you bill the time reading those email chains where you are not asked to do stuff but you are on the deal and the email may or may not be relevant to your work stream? Like in an MA deal, you are copied on all email chains with specialists but someone else is managing the deal. It’s nice that the team keeps me copied on everything but it takes a long time to sort those emails.

We are supposed to get our mid-year review soon and I’m nervous about it. I got very good reviews in a previous, informal review, but recently I slipped a bit with some work product and was a bit slow to turn around some pro-Bono work. I’m afraid that it will overshadow the good work I’ve done in the past just because it coincided with the time partners are drafting their reviews.
