Hello! I need some (creative) suggestions on how to do a video interview. I live in a very small 1br apartment with my husband occupying the bedroom for work during the day and a 2 yr old occupying the living area. I thought of the kitchen but it’s proximity to a busy road makes it a little too noisy to have a good call. The bathroom perhaps? Will that create an echo? I am thinking of using a backdrop so that the mess will be covered up. It will be a 30-min interview.

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. Tax question:
Based out of NYC, so I pay NY state income tax AND NYC city tax (for living in the five boroughs). I left in March to live in a state across the country with significantly less income tax. I can change my work location pretty easily, but I need to change my permanent address to save on NYC city tax right? Does not living in the state you work in have consequences/tax penalties?
