Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

See the trick is you need to be mapped to a VHCOL and then work in a LCOL. Been doing it for a while now
Maybe take comp early in the process. Like during the first HR screen.

I'm located in NYC and had a firm based in Memphis, Tennessee contact me about a senior manager position. They were open to fully remote, but pay was a joke when I asked- 100k to 120k. I was earning more than that as a Senior associate
Oof, I wonder why I had so much anxiety seeing a ton of senior managers on LinkedIn when I was only an associate!
Probably not. I live in NYC and having trouble finding comp that would be comparable to NYC.
Yes, I just went through it with a company. They map you to a band in their comp structure, which will not be necessarily where you live but team based. Most likely they won’t be paying VHCOL rates but whatever they think the market rate is for this position. I was able to negotiate slightly, but it was still below what I wanted, so I ended up passing.
I recently came across a remote Senior Tax Accountant (industry) role out of NYC. The pay was only $90,000. I thought that was very low
