Wow. I’d say at least you got a steak but 3 hours is a long time

That’s brutal, especially after a dinner like that. I don’t think there’s a clean way to handle it, you kind of just have to chalk it up as a bad experience and move on. At least you got a $100 steak out of it lol,
That is rough, but not unheard of. Be ready if they call you back in, but let it go. You got facetime with a partner. That counts for something. There are too many external factors to contend with. Timelines, other candidates, etc.
That’s rough, and honestly more common than it should be.
Three hours, a dinner, strong signals, then silence , anyone would read that as genuine interest. The frustrating part is not even the rejection, it’s the lack of basic respect afterward.
I’ve come to see ghosting as more about their process, communication style, or internal chaos than about the candidate. A lot can happen behind the scenes: budget freeze, politics, indecision, role changed, or simply poor leadership.
What helped me most was tracking every application, interview stage, follow-up, and outcome. It took some of the emotion out of it and reminded me that one bad process doesn’t define your value.
Still, the steak part is brutal. They could at least have given you closure with dessert.
Quite understand your feelings. I am ghosted even after being confirmed that I can go to work next week. LOL
