I’m so grumpy about new campus hires. Sometimes I’m judgmental (your hobby is “working on your golf swing,” really?). Sometimes I’m just exhausted by the worried earnestness. Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

I am contracted employee in a company . I am assigned POC work .No design or document, just my manager sent a video of youtube saying that we have create similar feature . Since there is no proper documentation still manager is forcing to complete it by next week end. There are many hit and trials I am trying and giving him daily report of what I have tried and what worked and not worked. Still giving pressure.
He says "I don't bother you work for 1 hour or 10 hour per day". What should I do?

How does your company manages HR or team building activities in WFH model ? is it effective in refreshing you or team culture ? Or is it just an extra overhead now ?

I feel it was a good break/refresh when at office but now it really feels just an extra overhead siting on desk pretending to have fun when you can ACTUALLY have rest/fun by just taking break for that time and instead interact with people around yourself AT Home. Feels more refreshing.

At each increment/appraisal management giving excuses for not giving a good hike they say kindly add more degree/certification to your profile
Why don't they advise these thing the whole year

They only give more n more load of work during the time and say take more responsibilities do work independently the more experience you have the bigger your ctc will be but things change

Is WLB related with CTC ? Do we have to sacrifice our WLB for success ?

Mine - It comes down to senior management (client management) who believe in this not bcz it makes sense but more of as a religious zeal and the propogate the same across their team to justify their toxic control over their team's life.

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.

So i work at this company in coimbatore (india) and we have a very poor work life balance. We have a 6 day working policy and no vacation or sick leaves just 1 day casual leave a month. We usualy had to work around 10 to 12 hrs and no leaves even during govt holidays. How can i make them understand this is killing our personal life. I have already shared a couple of emails to hr and CFO of our company to no avail. Please advice on what should I do next
