I have been impressed with the communication for the most part but I find it VERY hard to believe there will not be layoffs, or a RIF by another name, here in a month or two.

Agreed. Think our leadership had done a good job dealing with the pandemic so far. No layoffs and promotion merit increases are good indicators. Not having mass layoffs like another big 4 is even a better one 😎

If they are in federal than there is probably more to the story. As a Fed manager, I know Federal is killing it and has virtually no bench so I doubt we are laying people off. Probably a performance problem.
Wouldn’t toot our horns just yet. Advisory let it slip on a call we have more people than needed. Last week was another firm wide call where officially we’re told we had less turnover than expected...

How’s the Finance Transformation practice doing? Got an offer pre-COVID and recruiter reached back out this week asking if I can start in 2-3 weeks. Assuming the group is doing well if they’re hiring again

Our FE group is doing pretty well too. Finance ops tends to have a decent pipeline regardless of the economic climate.
No layoffs, guaranteed bonuses at 125% of target, and positive growth in revenue all through the last quarter, which reflected in big stock increases for RSUs so I’m happy as a clam. Granted this is all industry; left back in April right before Covid shutdowns.
I came from Accenture, so I know the stress and I’m still in touch with coworkers and friends that are dealing with the current circumstances. Just wanted to provide a story on the other side 😊
Can confirm kpmg is letting people go. My former manager recently reached out to me for a referral. He is in federal advisory tho

Unless I’ve been lied to federal is relatively air-tight outside of the regular turnover stuff
EY the same with no raises or bonuses, but rumors are layoffs in Sept/Oct and less commitment to a return to office date. Some layoffs already claimed to be performance related but seemed to be individual performance related one offs so not out of the norm.
I think it’s 3 months. But yes, and hope they offer that in future years for those who need the time off and don’t need the money.

Most likely will be layoffs by October but agreed, leadership has done a good job communicating. Some people seem to be pissed off that they haven’t done layoffs already of low performers in lieu of cutting bonuses and benefits. Will prob end up losing some high performers due to this, but long term its good to be with company that puts off massive layoffs as last resort especially in this environment.
