I'm pretty sure their DEI initiatives are part of the reason why I was hired. That's obviously a huge boon for them as they are very lucky to have someone so capable contributing to their organization.
And with that ladies and gentlemen, I rest my case.
I see DEI as a program/policy intended to benefit black people but I still don’t see that being reflected at the upper ranks of senior management, except for the DEI executive. There has always been a willingness to hire diverse people (pre George Floyd even) but I still hear black and brown folks talk about lack of promotions to this day.
I have only worked at F500 companies (across varied industries) and have never seen a black exec - one VP though.
