Hi there! Interviewing w/Amazon for a non-tech role (Associate Category Manager aka Associate Buyer) and was asked what my salary requirements are for base+bonus+equity. Can anyone share insight on what Amazonians make in this role. I have 4 YOE and glassdoor is not very helpful.
Any feedback is appreciated 🙏 Amazon

Probably lack of available talent in those areas? It’s like being an engineer in Denver. Throw a rock and you’ll hit one so salaries are lower even if cost of living is higher than a lot of places.
Which position OP?
Wow, Austin is getting screwed hard…
Have you seen how cheap a house is Texas?
SF is most expensive real estate & Seattle is extremely expensive as well. NYC is going to always be expensive but as globalization continues there is less and less need for industries to be in one city.
Plus please consider they are even more liberal than NYC so they pay more taxes and whatnot, thus the salaries are pretty equitable. At that price range I’d say best life/work position would be:
Remote
Seattle
Austin/NYC
San Fransisco
Austin assuming home prices level out. If not then drop it down.
I’d rather make 250 anywhere than 300 in San Francisco

Having lived in SF, Boston and NYC - I am confident that those are the three most expensive areas in the US with NYC being substantially pricier. Our food prices are way higher and our average rent is over a 1,000 a month more. Sure SF has more expensive gas but y’all don’t have tolls the way we do. Just driving within NJ- say from Princeton to Jersey City is almost $11 each way. Entering the city would be another $16 tool. Every time I go I am surprised that there aren’t more homeless people

I am OP, asking why the city with the highest COL doesn’t have the highest salary? Like is there a rationale, such as state tax and benefits on the backend are more expensive for NY employees so the cost to employer is the same and employee takes the hit on the difference
