Pretty fast for me, though I was applying for admission based solely on an application since I had been admitted in another state for 10+ years. I submitted all my materials and just a little over two months later I got an email telling me to show up for the next swearing in ceremony, which was about three weeks after that.

Thanks! How long ago was this? And do you know if they called references?

It was about two years ago. I'm not sure if they called references. I don't think they did but I never verified with anyone who I listed.

Is it possible to take certain files with you when leaving? Is this monitored, always or focused on the end of your tenure? I’m not talking client data but maybe doc templates or certain slide decks or program code like a VBA macro.

Looking for insight on avg total comp for registered middle management with big bank. Considering making the jump from a branch advisor to managing a team of branch advisors. I’m newly 9/10 licensed. I’ve been building book in a bank branch but the consumer bank side of the job is draining. I’m making $155k total, $75k of that is salary. Anticipating a $130k salary offer if I go management route, with small annual bonus. Any others with experience that can speak to this?

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!
