Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.
I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

What school are you going to? Because I think the school you go to makes or breaks your experience.

I do. Should have just invested that money. It would have been 3x already! 😄
You are assuming that I would have been jobless without the MBA. Nobody gave me job just because I have an MBA.
I’m in one currently but 2x points I’ll relay to you that I concluded even prior to joining:
A. By itself it’s not powerful, you need to combine with another masters + your domain field experience for unique narrative (law, bio, engineering, medical, sales, etc)
B. The emphasis should be on networking, for context what you think may be networking may be wrong if you are thinking like this.
I’m talking getting to know all your cohort, school staff, going to clubs, associations, orgs, and engaging with the people in them + the material and finally attending all industry related talks/chats/events at the school.
Without these there isn’t a lot of value besides understanding corporate culture further (and maybe becoming more communicative) imo
Me. Too general
Use your MBA to milk the internship market. Network at the internships and leverage your connections to get a job. If you just getting an MBA to go to classes, you are wasting your time and money. Actual work experience and connections is the prize.
I pursued an MBA to transition away from engineering, and while I am more satisfied with my current day-to-day work, I'm uncertain if it was financially prudent. Had I remained in engineering, I would have accumulated 12 years of experience and earned around $180k annually. Instead, I experienced a career shift after five years of engineering, two years of MBA study, and two years of unemployment during COVID. Additionally, the MBA cost nearly $200k.
Although my job satisfaction has improved thanks to the MBA, I can't help but think that my financial situation would have been significantly better if I had stayed in engineering.
@M1 why didn’t you just do part time so you don’t waste 2 years
At Top schools, you get the most benefits if you do the full-time. I already hated being an engineer, and I wanted to fully immerse myself into the MBA experience. I don't regret doing full-time as I get to travel to dozen or so countries either through the program or during my breaks using parts of my student loan. I would never trade those experiences back.
