Java Microservices Architect with 40 LPA Fixed (12 YOE) at Nagarro. Joined 8 months back. Got an offer from Publicis Sapient of 55LPA (50 Fixed, 5 Variable). I have asked for 60, but that’s out of their budget. I’m thinking of accepting the offer only if 55 is fixed without any variable. What do tou think guys? Is it worth a switch? When calculating YOE, if you are working 2 jobs, can you double count those years? For reference, I’ve been an Army Reserves officer for the last 5 years since coming off active duty, and spend about 30-40 hours per month (outside of 2-4 week annual training) on that job. So it’s not like driving Uber, it’s a high stress/very involved job. Technically I have 7 years Active Army + 5 years D + 5 Years reserves if I count them. Don’t know if there’s any practical reason just curious peoples opinion

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
