How much do salaries for top mortgage brokers or real estate agents swing? Curious how monthly comp now (with higher rates and less sales) would compare to the “heyday” of house buying and low rates that happened in 2020/2021..? If a top broker made $40k a month in 2021, what might they be taking home now?

Starting to see a lot of compensation threads and even within the same city, the variance of salary is really noticeable. I didn’t expect the spread to be this high, especially in high COL areas.

Brand new into my career and I’m trying to juggle wanting to max my 401k, Roth IRA, and HSA, while also saving for a down payment on a house! I realize that with my current salary ($78k) doing all this is too ambitious. Any advice on streamlining my priorities and which ones I should give up on for right now? If anyone else has gone through something similar early in their career what did you do?

I’m trying to figure out what I’m worth. I’m a director / editor who works directly in-house at an agency. I’ve directed several (roughly one a month) broadcast spots in the last year for a national fast food client and I’ve also edited those spots among editing other random national spots in-between. The production budgets range from roughly 200k-500k per shoot depending on how many days it is. I get paid 75k yearly which is feeling pretty low when I do the math. Is that fair?
