At the big ID firms in NYC you’re getting $175k as a senior associate as a new hire, unless you really bring something unique to the table such as complex ID trial experience or have a client. Whether you have 7 years or 15 years it won’t really matter once you hit that 7/8 year mark, as at that point you are a senior. I’d imagine Boston is a similar pay scale, and in NY the job posts are supposed to include salary range, so you can look at the NY posts for an estimate on what to expect from a similar size firm in Boston.
Sounds about right. Then for a more “senior” attorney it’ll be a bit more than that. ID rates are so low you can’t look at it as a lockstep sort of salary range. Whether you’re a 7th year or a 15th year the rate is the same.
