Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase?Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

It is very important for some who are self-motivated and are task-oriented! I have friends who chose to seek other employment when their companies decided they wanted their help to start working at a company building.
I definitely get that. Guess I’m torn between my current gig or looking elsewhere / starting to and places are requesting to come in
I would take a pretty substantial pay cut for the ability to work from home. I’m talking, 20% or maybe more. I would love to work from home, it would make my life so much easier.

If you suggest that this role can be done remotely without losing efficiency then I’d say you’d need to be paid on par with the offshore team, so an 80% pay cut, otherwise I can just give them your job.
