How to convince my project manager that a techie doesn't know all the tools and skills present in this world although having 10 yrs of exp. He keeps on humiliating me that y dont u do this automation or that enhancement. Even post automating things when that fails he keeps on asking how to automate in such a way that it get resolved automatically. When trying to explain he doesn't listen & comes back to same point. When I say I dont knw this skill which is not related then also he doesn't listen

How much do you share with your coworkers? I never really share much of my personal life with coworkers, but my team shares a lot about themselves & their family. I usually ask about their lives, deflecting the question. Is this weird? Am I being too cautious?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

Started a new job as GC to two companies. I met my teams on-site wearing Jordans and my nicest t-shirts and I’ve been on all my calls wearing a hat with my fingernails painted (my daughters love going to get manicures together). I’m sure it’s easier for a white guy to get away with this sort of thing, but it does feel like it’s a lot easier to be a lawyer and still be yourself than it used to be (although I’ve been in-house gang since I graduated, so I never had firm life to compare it to).

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well?
