When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. What did you do before becoming a BDR? For some, it’s their first job out of college, for others, they make the leap from a completely different industry. What did your path look like and what advice would you give to someone looking to make the move?

I have a total of 4 years sales experience, 1 year in life insurance sales and 3 in retail banking (lending, investment referrals, merchant services referrals).

I did well in banking, but incentive plan has suffered tremendously, so I’m looking to jump into tech sales where I could be more compensated for the work.
