Stop thinking it in terms of market average, someone with same experience can earn 30 LPA whereas someone can barely cross 5 LPA
If you feel you deserve more, explore the market and grab the opportunity as per your likings
To give you a perspective I was earning around 10 LPA with 5 YOE, and @ 7 YOE i was at 30+,
This doesn’t mean i was paid less earlier.
Just focus on your skills and the market will definitely reward you 🙂
I felt like I was reading my own story ☺️. Beautifully explained. Keep it up
You are not underpaid, mostly people are earning this much CTC only with 3+ years of experience.
How much you get paid depends on lot of factors. Don't become jealous or feel sad when you see people here posting super high salaries. If you feel better, until 14 years of my experience, since I was in same org, I has 13.5L salary, so it was less than my YOE. I am not into any niche skills so I don't even expect the outlier category salaries.
At 16 years now, I am expecting 30L with my next switch (3rd company) and as per what I see here, people would consider me too underpaid.
But with no niche skills, and at 16+ years experience, people like me even struggle to get a single interview call and at levels, you usually get interviews only through referrals and rarely using job sites and I am not very good at network (but I try and have improved I feel).
If personally you think that your salary is sufficient and you are enjoying work and have work life balance, don't keep checking your friends and others who are being paid more.
I agree with TC 1. At 3.5 YoE, you're not really underpaid. Unless your domain/skillset is exceptionally high value and rare.
Your on the right track I believe.
I am getting 5LPA at this exp.
Comparing yourself with others shouldn't be only criteria to decide whether you are underpaid or not. Although it's difficult not to, but refrain from it, you wil always feel insecure.
Consider other factors like, do you need a raise, are you performing better than other. Are your expenses increasing and your salary lagging. Do you deserve more. Then think about the pay packages that are there in the market. An overall picture will help you reach to a conclusion better.
Oh please!!!!!!! You are not underpaid!!!!
Only you can determine your true worth, and money is not the only factor.
It is good at this exp if you have not made any switch till now.
I myself feel underpaid today. But when I look back and compare with my past ie, few years ago if I/my father was earning as same as how much I'm earning now, I would've paid my whole engineering fee with just a month salary which I'm earning now. So now you've to understand that life isn't a race. Everyone is moving ahead in their own timeline. Stop having college mindset. Grow up:)
