I enjoyed working at Gordon Rees and they do often get interesting cases, but correct it is a lot of EPLI work. However that does get you great experience earlier on than a lot of other firms - you’ll likely be able to take depositions and argue motions etc. it’s been awhile since I worked there but there wasn’t a clear practice group split so you may be doing more than just employment work. People are generally nice. Salary is way below market, but I think can likely advance more quickly than a lot of other firms.
Awesome insights! Thanks! I definitely want to be doing more depositions and getting into court more than I am now. We shall see how the job application process goes.
I am a plaintiff’s side attorney and work regularly with their NYC office. They are very professional and nice people. My read of their office is that it’s a pretty good place to work. If I was to go defense side (putting aside the EPLI work which is probably most of their book) I would have no reservations working for them.
That’s a glowing reference. Thank you
