Everything is great. Everything will be great.
Are you guys hiring? Asking for a friend.
You asked about morale. It is good and our high performers are excited about the new platform because they will be given the opportunity to build something that is better that the existing Deloitte and BAH platforms. Benefits are not ticking away.
P1, based on what I’ve heard from my BAH network, initially I expect it to improve. Most of the non-believers, like me, are going to leave immediately following closing. That will immediately pull the most negative voices out of the room. I also expect Veritas & NewCo (what we’re calling it before we have a real name) to initially role out a charm offensive with retention bonuses, early promotions, and HH’s to celebrate. After 6-12 mos, though, I suspect the honeymoon will wear off and the hangover will start to set in: an IPO is a wealth extractive process, and Private Equity firms do not make money by letting their acquired assets keep it.
It’s a “great opportunity” for us to “redefine ourselves” and “do interesting work” and “be a leader in the market."
P5, that’s why I’m sticking around. Bigger bonus pool, likely promotion, lots of parties? Yes please. Hanging out at NewCo for a year isn’t going to derail my career.
Uh, P8, have you been on any of our benefits calls?
I’d bet 30+% attrition in the 6 mos after the deal closes in a month or so
@Senior Manager1
Good point. That’s why I left right away So I can beat the rush. I could be wrong but the impression I’ve been getting is that the bonus is going to suck this year.
^ Hey. The recruiter told me that the end of the pay band for consultant level (experienced associate) is $80K. She also threw in signing bonus too. I’ve seen people jump and get Sr. Consultant level. It depends on years of experience, team lead experience and if you have any certification. That’s just my opinion
Not fully vested. I left around Feb before it was announced. People I know that want to leave are waiting until the closing.
D1, what's average compensation for an Experienced Associate at Deloitte. My.. uh... friend was looking at the D job site but couldn't get accurate salary data from the various public sources.
Oh I got out right away. Even got a promo from A to SA during the process. PwC PS was a terrible place to begin with, now add that into the mix and you couldn’t pay me enough $ to stay.
P1 I was in the low 70s at PwC as an Associate and got bumped to mid 80s when I switched to KPMG
EY fwiw at least 70 is the federal starting salary out of college for many of the big 4 these days in an expensive metro area. More in commercial.
Agree it’s insane- I think back to my early analyst years and shudder to think somebody pays that much for the work I was capable of doing. Very expensive status report, PowerPoint, and expense machines.
OP, don’t suppose you’re open to referrals? :0)
See ..now I feel like the analysts and associates do all the hard work. It does seem a lil crazy making 70k+ out of college but they work pretty hard for it!
Federal campus hires at Deloitte advisory only make 61 out of college, had to leave the get that 80
Op - consulting. I came from Pwc commercial before as well
D1, how many years experience?
