Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Please keep us posted, Author. I think some of us are feeling more than a little worried for you.
Hey hey, I finally received the onboarding email yesterday. It's all good!
I HAVE A JOB AND I'VE NOT BEEN SCAMMED AND YAY LIFE IS GREAT WOHOOOO
Did you interview directly with anyone on the team? Agree a 12/29 start date and not having met any employees (if that’s the case) sounds like a red flag. Hoping for the best for you but take cautionary measures just in case.
I actually don’t think this is a scam; you’d be surprised at how disorganized big companies can be. It’s very possible a lot of folks are scrambling with the holidays right now. If you still don’t hear by Monday you could reach out to the folks you interviewed with on LinkedIn, to also ask for guidance. Good luck!
You were right. They genuinely were scrambling.
I FINALLY received an onboarding email yesterday and I'm so so relieved.
And thank you for your comment. I was holding onto this single ray of hope.
Have you signed the offer letter?
You should check your spam! I just found two remote roles that were sent to me this morning. The recruiter decided to call me. Make sure your offer is not in your spam. To my surprise I had another remote opportunity! It might be gone by now. However, I still replied in case.
Were you in contact with the in-house HR or just the recruiter? Was the contract signed with a start date?
FOUR rounds of interviews?!
THREE months long?!
Do you work for the CIA? LOL
No interview process should drag out that long.
The bigger the brand the more potential for a scam. The phishers use the big brand allure as a trap.
Can you name the brand so others know to look out for this if it is a scam?
