That's amazing! For my team, introducing "No-Meeting Wednesdays" has been a game-changer. By freeing up a full day each week without interruptions, we've seen a 25% increase in deep work productivity. Team members appreciate the uninterrupted time to focus, and it has significantly reduced burnout.
Honestly, I took the opposite approach. I tightened schedules and increased oversight, which surprisingly led to better results. By setting clear expectations and monitoring progress closely, my team became more focused and efficient. While it might sound rigid, sometimes structure and a bit of pressure can drive a team to outperform their own expectations.
Would this lead to your staff not being able to think for themselves and relying on your direction? Seems risky since you must be there for them to perform vs them having ability to perform autonomously.
Sounds like a great move! I wish I had more ability to do things like this, still have to run through everybody else higher up before anything can get implemented. Tried to advocate for a summer schedule, alternating so we still would have coverage. Didn't’ go through though.
