I am a department head and inherited a team of salary managers. I have 1 manager who is underperforming. I have attempted to coach on the tasks he needs to work on and will accuse me of being racist and singling him out. I personally feel I'm the one being attacked and bullied. Any advice on how to approach?

Having been in this position previously I found it helpful to document the feedback prior and send ahead of time with an agenda. I would then ask them to come prepared with two action items they are going to implement for improvement.

Are you a hotel manager? If so, what department is the person managing and what metrics are they underperforming at?

Why you so sure he will be accusing you of being racist? What did your coaching entail?

Could your highest performing manager pair up with the underperforming manager to provide mentoring?

If the communication is done right, that’s often a great idea!

My annual perf discussion is monday morning. I work on a tough team for a tough place. What do you do for winter shoes and commuting?

I walk a total ~20 mins in between train/bus stations and then getting from the stop in the loop to the office.

What do I do come wintertime for boots? Do you wear them while you're in the office? Or do you bring dress shoes with you to change in to? I wear a suit to work, so what boots would be good for winter but also look decent with a suit? This is my first winter in Chicago (a socal transplant)

I am seeing too many post about awards like rising star, Kudos, etc. People keep telling there managers recommended them for these awards.
My manager doesn't interact much with us. I consider myself as some one who has worked hard for project and other intiatives. Should I ask my manager to consider me and if yes how should I initiate it.
