I am about to start with EY in their FSO Audit group. I have recently been unsure about what I want to do long term, career wise. Financial Services seems interesting but don’t want to pigeonhole myself, as I’m not sure if that’s the industry I for sure want to be in. I have heard mixed things about whether FSO pigeonholes you or not and whether or not I should try to switch to core now, or try it for a year then if I’m not liking it, ask to move to core. Any advice?

I’m in AWM - PwC’s FSO and the work within AWM is so varied that I’m not really worried about it. Theres, real estate, infrastructure, alternative investments, mutual funds, hedge funds, banks, insurance, energy, etc. The exit ops are better, IMO in our practice and it’s the largest assurance practice at PwC. I’d assume the same at EY. AWM employees are able to make partner 1-3 years earlier that their counterparts in other assurance groups because of the growth

Hello there! I currently work in billing at a medical office. I got my Bachelors in Psychology a few years ago but I couldn’t find a position that seemed like a good option for me that was well paying and fulfilling. I tried working as a tech at an Applied Behavior Analysis clinic but it wasn’t a good fit. I’m hesitant to try case management or social work because I worry I won’t like it but I want to use my degree in Psychology. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Can anyone provide any advice, or has anyone successfully moved away from sales?

I have an offer from a start-up which I will be joining next week. Even though I got a hike more than 100% ( current tc: 6lpa, new tc:14lpa) and changed to sde role I am still not satisfied. Seeing all those comp posts on leetcode I felt I can be one of them. But now I am feeling left behind and not able to move on. I know I have no dev experience. But every other person is getting tc more than 25. How can I get rid of this FOMO and focus on learning and growth. Drop your advice in comments sec.
