I am curious about corporate counsel roles at Amazon in Seattle. I practiced for a few years out of law school doing pro/low bono cases. Then did policy work for 10 years while having kids. I'm now 18 months into heavy litigation role with the State AGO and realizing I really need to make more money. Is it premature to apply at Amazon even for junior legal roles? I don't mind working my way up but don't want to go to apply just to have my application languish for want of specific experience.

HELP! Company wants me to move to the US for a Remote role - Is this reasonable? Hi, I'm moving through the stages for a Remote US role as a Canadian candidate. They mentioned if I were to be offered, expectation is I'd move to the US. I find this odd as the role is Remote but guess it's legal purposes. Good thing is, this comp also has a Canandian office BUT they said bringing me on through the Canadian office is not smth they do.

Im interviewing for an internal promotion at my current employer. I’ve previously expressed a lot of interest in this specific role and it’s well known throughout my division my interest. Even though I’ve conducted informational interviews before now to get a feel of the role, now that I’m going through the full interview process, it doesn’t seem like what I want to do any more. I’m considering withdrawing my application, but I’m afraid of the optics and future career at this company. Thoughts?

Fishes, I have a job title question. Does it matter if a role is in the same project with different titles? Example: SA, State and Local, Researcher vs SA, State and Local, Business Analyst. The job description makes it sound like they are the same project. However, Business Analyst does have more requirements/qualifications listed than Researcher. I’m coming from industry (3 YOE). How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

I am a personal injury defense attorney and I’ve never done plaintiff’s work. I have a case where I suspect the plaintiff is malingering and exaggerating his injuries. The plaintiffs attorney has sent me multiple demands for $3 million dollars and basically begged me to respond with some offer. Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day.
