I’m not sure what country you are in but that sounds discriminatory and is illegal in the US. If it is a physical disability according to The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) a prospective employer is generally not allowed to ask you disability-related questions or require you to get a medical examination until after they have made you a conditional job offer.
That sounds NORMAL in the USA unfortunately.
It's a big part of why I work remotely only.
