If i got selected I am planning to move with my family.

It should be between 150K and 220K.
Literally depends on who is backing you - another director, a VP, a SVP ...
It also depends on your ethnicity. For example, if you're from India your chances may be higher due to support from compatriots. Being a person of color (POC) can also increase your chances through DEI initiatives.
At TD, you may have better prospects if you're Asian or Chinese. At Scotiabank, if you’re not Indian, then being from Latin America might help. In some depts the leadership claims that Spanish is required, but in reality, it’s often just an excuse to hire friends.
Not sure about RBC, CIBC, and BMO - but if none of the above applies, your chances of becoming a director are lower. Even if you get the position, you likely won’t be paid the same as others.
I wish we had a transparent salary system that included breakdowns by ethnicity. I’d be happy to be proven wrong based on transparent figures about what I wrote above.
Don’t use words randomly if you’re not sure of their meaning—racism is rooted in prejudice and antagonism. What I wrote is based on facts and has nothing to do with either.
You’re not offending anyone, but you’re clearly disconnected from reality.
And regardless of what you choose to call it, you won’t escape it.
I think that you should be targeting at least 150k, but probably closer to 170-180k with 17 years of experience. I wouldn't be happy with a bonus of less than 20% but I think you may even be able to negotiate higher depending on what the base offer is.
This is too low. At Scotia minimum pay is 130,000 for this level
I am curious which bank gives 180k base to technology directors . Last I know is 130-140k base in most banks. Except capital markets though
This is too low
Director level range is 130,000 to over 200,000.
For base pay. Newly promoted employees are hired at the low end of the range. With experience you should ask for at least 150,000 or higher for the base salary. The bonus for head office employees is 20 percent. There are various other compensation programs for people who don’t have head office roles and so many other bonus programs exist. There are employees who do earn above the maximum pay for a job but this is not the norm. But if the job is really specialized they will make exceptions. I think median pay is around 155,000 for this level plus bonus gets you to around 190,000 all in. You get other benefits like ESOP etc.
Assuming this is for US . base would go upto 190k and bonus 18-25%
My bad I thought it was for Canada
This question is for Canada.
I know. I was hoping that what I suggested would really translate to an equivalent Canadian site.
I would keep BMO out of your thoughts. this specific role has major turn over due to the companies many changes and inconsistent goals. BMO has done mass lay offs this year and blindsided many employees That I’ve been with the company for years. Probably due to there multiple law suits
