Can you hire enough people under you to do the job, so you end up working 20ish hours without changing the job or the pay?
Maybe check your local universities? Someone with your level of experience might be able to come in pretty high on the finance side of things and everything moves glacially slow in academia, so even if it’s a full FTE, it will feel like less. Many universities also have .75 FTE type of positions, usually great benefits.
Damn that’s a pretty high salary for a controller, no?
Idk if you’re gonna get benefits at 20hours a week from any company.
You could go be an accounting manager anywhere with that much experience though if you’re will to work ~32-40
I am in HCOL area and also somewhat high demanding industry so it may be higher than general. Honestly I can accept less than 50k + benefits but fewer hours are the key. Maybe I will start with my current firm
1. AWA with your current role. Make sure to keep over 50% hours to keep your benefits. Your salary will be proportional to
2. Short term solution I’ve seen a case where you can negotiate with your current employer to become an “advisor”. You are basically training your replacement.
Good luck
Find a consulting firm they hire you as a w-2 employee and then loan you out to projects, although to qualify for benefits you would have to hit a certain number of hours per week
How much do you work right now? I cant imagine more than 40 hours a week?
I dont think you are getting a job that actually commits to less than that unless you are willing to make 5 figures. Forget 100K
I have a spouse and makes more than me but as a very small business owner. Unfortunately just no benefits.
Look into "my part time controller". Basically outsourced accounting services and you get to pick how much you want to work.
Idk about the salary. Part time jobs offering benefits besides some pto are very rare.
Look for fractional CFO/VP Finance roles.
I’m in consulting but similar situation/motivation. I’m looking into government and regulatory roles myself. Pickings are slim but something for you to consider - wishing you the best
